Hacks to Filling a Duvet Cover

The Burrito Method

Also called the ‘California Roll Method’, this hack recently went viral on TikTok and is so easy to master! The Burrito Method is a foolproof way to fill your duvet cover without any hassle. Start by laying your duvet cover flat on your bed, with the opening at the foot of the bed. Next, lay your duvet on top of the cover, making sure that the corners are aligned. Then, starting at the head of your bed, roll both the duvet and the cover together, like a burrito. Once you've rolled whole thing, reach inside the duvet cover and flip it over one end of your burrito. Do the same on the other side (almost like stuffing a pillow). Flip out the middle of the roll. Then you can simply unroll the duvet and voila! Your duvet is now inside the cover.

The Traditional Method

This is another easy way to fill your duvet cover, which many of us already know. Start by layinging your duvet over your bed. Then turn your duvet cover inside out and lay it over the duvet, with the opening at the foot of the bed. Ensure all the corners align. Place your hands inside the duvet cover and grab the top two corners. Pinch each one and flip the right way around. Keeping hold of the corners, slide the cover down the rest of the duvet and adjust/align as you go. Finish by tucking the bottom corners in. Then give the duvet a good shake.

Use Safety Pins

If you're struggling to keep your duvet in place while filling the cover, try using safety pins to secure the corners. Start the same way as for the traditional method, but take four safety pins and attach one to each corner of the duvet cover, securing the corners of the duvet in place. Once the corners are secured, you can easily shake the duvet out to fill the cover.

Duvet cover clips are another handy tool that can make filling your duvet cover much easier. They work similarly to the safety pins, but you use the duvet cover clips to attach the corners of the duvet to the inside corners of the cover.
